I am assuming that she is the Ruama Basford of Dunham who married George Ross, Jr. at Dunham, Canada East on 15 Mar 1829. [329, p. 37]

Her will was dated 6 Feb 1877, Dunham, Quebec, Canada. She named her daughter Eliza the sole heir and executrix for her estate. [826]

On this day the sixth of February in the year of Our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and seventy seven-
At the special instance and request of Rumay Bassford, wife of George Ross of the Township of Dunham, in the District of Bedford yeoman-
I the undersigned Public Notary duly admitted and sworn in and for the Province of Quebec, in the Dominion of Canada, residing in the Township of Stanbridge, in the said District and Province, accompanied by the Instrumentary witnesses hereinafter named, and for that purpose called-
Personally went and repaired to the place of residence of her the said Rumay Bassford, at the request aforesaid where being we found her in her usual state of bodily health, of sound mind, memory and understanding as appears unto us, the said Notary and Witnesses, who well knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and wishing to settle her worldly affairs before her demise hath thus made, dictated, published, and declared, ___ ___ ___, her Last Will and Testament unto us the said notary and witnesses in manner and form following that is to say-
First, as a Christian I recommend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God my creator, hoping for pardon and remission of my sins, through the sole merits of my Redeemer Jesus Christ, my body I commit to the earth ___ and worms to be interred in a Christian like manner after my demise-
Second, I wish and request that all my past debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon as possible after my demise, and ___ if any I have committed to be repaired as ade known by my Testamentary Executrix hereinafter named-
Third, I will devise and bequeath unto by well beloved daughter Eliza Ross, late widow of the late William Lev(?) in his life time of the said Township of Dunham yeoman deceased, now wife if Azro Scofield of the same place, yeoman, all and singular my property, real or personal, movable or immovable, to me belonging or to me in any wise appertaining in what I may be possessed of at the time of y demise, be it of what kind, name, or nature it may wherever and whenever found, lying, being, or situated, the whole without any exceptions or ___ whatever (save and except therefrom sufficient to pay and satisfy my just debts and funeral expenses)
The same to have and to hold unto, and to the free use benefit and behoof of my said well beloved daughter, the said Eliza Ross her heirs and assigns, my said property real or personal, movable or immovable to me so belonging or to me in any wise appertaining as aforesaid herein by virtue of these presents and to enter upon and take possession threreof as soon as possible after my demise when and wherever found as belonging to me, hereby and in the fullest manner prescribed constituting her, her heirs and assigns my universal and residuary legatees-
And to execute and accomplish this my present Last Will and Testament I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint the person of my said Daughter Eliza Ross, as executrix hereof giving her full power and authority to act, as such beyond the year and day limited by the customs and until every part and parcel of this my present Last Will and Testament shall have been well and truly executed according to the terms thereof-
This present Last Will and Testament was thus made, dictated, published and declared unto J. M. McGregor notary by the said Testatrix, in the presence of James G. Pell Yeoman, and Hiram C. Woodard yeoman, both of the Township of Dunham aforesaid-instrumentary witnesses for that purpose called, who caused the same to be written and taken down, and the same having been read, and reread ___ ___ to the said testatrix in the presence of the said witnesses by the said J. M. McGregor notary, doth hereby declare to well and truly understand the same and every part and parcel thereof and doth persist therein as being her only true Last Will and Testament, hereby and in the fullest manner possible annulling and making void any and all wills and codicils by her at any time heretofore made-
That done and executed at the said Township of Dunham, in the domicile of the said Testatrix, on the Day, Month and Year first before written, under the number two thousand four hundred and eighty, the said Testatrix declaring to be unable to write, hath made her mark f a cross in the presence of the said notary and witnesses, who have signed these presents in the presence of each other in testimony thereof

I assume she is the Cynthia Basford, age 23, who married Fernando Cortez Kimball in 1835. [329, p. 37]
