17. Rachel BASFORD (Stephen², Thomas¹). Born abt 1778. [12] age abt 48 in 1826. Rachel died ? .

She was named in the will of Burton Linthicum in 1782. [11] (Burton would be the husband of her father’s sister Milcah.)

Her husband died before 6 Mar 1815 when the Orphan’s Court named Rachel and her brother-in-law, Richard Clarke, administrators of his estate. [11]

In Aug 1826, brothers Jacob and and William Kinley filed a suit ( MD Equity Case #JS 5, p. 499-512) to settle a dispute regarding the land of "Henry and Elizabeth" and several other tracts. (Stephen Basford, father of Rachel, also owned part of this land). Named in the suit were the children of William Kinley and widow Rachel: Ann Maria wife of John Doffler, and minors Dorcus, Susannah, Mary, and Rachel Kinley. Jonathan Doffler testified the widow Rachel was about 48 years old and in tolerable health. [11]

[11] Isaac was baptized in Frederick Co., MD, on 20 Feb 1780. [11] Evangelical Lutheran Church. Isaac died in Frederick Co., MD, on 26 Jun 1823. [11]
